How are Danes coffee beans packed?

Our coffee is packed using a highly specialised oxygen-removal process. Each bag includes a one-way valve that allows natural degassing while preventing oxygen from entering. Once sealed, the beans are protected from oxidation, allowing them to remain fresh and continue to develop naturally in the bag.

Unopened, our coffee remains fresh for at least 30 days from roast.

What is the shelf life of your coffee?

Thanks to our packing process, our beans have an extended shelf life and continue to develop flavour after roasting.

  • Unopened: the beans would stay fresh for at least 5 weeks
  • Optimal use:
    - Blends: from 2 weeks post-roast
    -Single origins: from 7–10 days post-roast
  • Once opened: 2–5 weeks, depending on the quality of your storage method - we recommend using one of our Airscapes

How should I store my coffee at home?

Store coffee in an airtight container, in a cool, dry place, away from heat and direct sunlight.

  • 200g / 250g bags: resealable and best kept in the original bag
  • 1kg bags: keep in the original bag, fold the top tightly, and store inside a vacuum-sealed container

When is coffee best to drink after roasting?
  • Milk blends: best from 2 weeks post-roast, once flavours have fully developed
  • Single origins: allow 5–6 days post-roast for complexity to emerge

Some coffees continue to evolve over several weeks, and the difference is going to be more noticeable when compared side by side; the times above are for the most ideal taste.

When is coffee best to drink after roasting?
Can I request the latest roast date?

Yes. If you would like the freshest possible roast date (sooner than 2 weeks old), simply add a note to your order. We will confirm shipping dates for all special requests.

Can you grind my coffee for me?

Yes, grinding is available for 200g, 250g, 400g, and 500g bags only. A range of grind options is available for different brew methods.

We recommend allowing coffee to rest for 4–5 days before grinding, as grinding too early releases aromatics prematurely and can result in flatter flavour.

Discounts on coffee beans are subject to the following conditions:

  • Applies to coffee beans only

Why Am I getting Charged on My Subscription?

Shipping is charged on the first subscription order only, and this first order must be 500g or more. This is in place to prevent misuse of the free shipping offer.

From your second subscription charge onwards, shipping is completely free, provided your subscription remains at 500g or more.

We ship using Australia Post and selected courier partners. Options include standard and express delivery, selectable at checkout. Where possible, we use carbon-neutral delivery services.

When will my order be dispatched?

Orders and subscriptions placed before midday are usually dispatched the same business day. Orders placed on weekends or public holidays ship the next business day.

Will I receive tracking information?

Yes. You will receive an order confirmation email, followed by a shipping notification with tracking details once your order is packed. Updates are provided via email and/or SMS.

What is the Danes Bean Rewards Program?

It's our loyalty program to reward our infrequent buyers (those without a subscription) by giving them 10% OFF for life!

Members earn 1 Bean Reward point for every $1 spent on coffee. Every 100 points can be redeemed for a $10 voucher off coffee, and up to 300 points can be redeemed at a time.

Looking for better discounts? Consider a subscription for 15% OFF for life.

Yes. Bean Rewards:

No, Bean Rewards are only for those who have no set frequency when enjoying their coffee from us. Out subscription offers a higher discount overall of 15% OFF + Free Shipping on all coffee order over 500g.

All coffees are available via subscription. Single origin subscriptions must be set up using the “Featured Origin” option, as these coffees rotate regularly.

Do you accept returns?

We do not offer refunds for change of mind. Claims must be reported within 3 days of receipt and approved prior to return. Items must be returned in original packaging.

Shipping costs are non-refundable, and we are not responsible for items damaged during return shipping.
