Really impressed with this blend (Black Velvet). The flavour is smooth and well-balanced without any harsh bitterness, making it an easy coffee to enjoy any time of day. It’s a consistently nice cup. Only downside, my daily coffee intake has gone up. Still, I’ll definitely be buying more.

If you want a coffee with real character and sweetness (I know that sounds a bit wanky) then Black Velvet is the ticket. My whole family truly loves it (Wife: Regular Almond FW, Son: Iced Latte, Me: Espresso + Piccolo)

Amazing! I read the label. Chocolate, strawberry, cherry etc. I opened the bag today and could smell the strawberry and cherry. Brewed an espresso. Then another. This is a beautiful coffee blend. It won't be my last bag of Black Velvet!

I've loved Danes coffee since I first had the Carumba at USQ years ago. Branching out I recently tried the Ascension and it honestly wasn't my flavour. At the time the Danes staff suggested I try Black Velvet and for my next order I did.
This one impressed me. Like REALLY impressed me.
The first hit is strawberry, and then comes berry and chocolate. There's a bit of caramel in there somewhere that keeps the flavour balanced. As a flat black or espresso drinker (I gave up milk coffee a while back) I'm really impressed.
Following the barista guide using a 2:1 brew ratio, I can pull a smooth, beautifully balanced shot with a silky crema that bursts with flavours unlike any other beans I've tried.
I don't know if I can be bothered trying other coffees now, it's just too good.

This is a truly remarkable blend. It's absolutely bursting with berry fruit, the current edition having a crazy good strawberry note. Just when you think it can't get any better than it is, it seems to magically love every brew method - espresso; flat white; stove top; filter pour over; or cold brew. Don't worry, despite all this, it still tastes like coffee of course! Only warning is, you may induce a love of coffee for others in the house who haven't liked coffee before.

I love the rich, full bodied flavour, yet so smooth; no milk required for my daily cold brew.

The flavour of this blend is so unique and out of this world.
We absolutely love it as a cold drip brew.
Our go to in terms of espresso(and milk textured) is blend 10% black velvet into a mocha gold or Viking dose . Absolutely primo 👌 😋

If you like black coffee, this is it. I genuinely don't know how it could get any better, this is truly an astonishing blend, the flavour is not acidic like most other black blends on the market, it's sweet with so many notes of flavour that if you try and focus and find while savouring, you will have reached such an enjoyable moment of your life where you're able to sit in silence and think about those nice and complex flavours coming from all sorts of directions

Loved the earlier version. You shouldn’t have tweaked the mix.

Has a sour note that maybe doesn’t suit milk based drinks - Mocha Gold however is it’s normal predictable self and has excellent body for milk - black velvet however is marginal for me, but undrinkable for the other 2 coffee drinkers in the household

I ordered Black Velvet after reading all the hype about it but it's underwhelming. Not to mention it's overly acidic making it unsuitable for use with non dairy alternatives particularly soy.

For me I enjoyed, but I can tell if be over it over a few days. We bought this for our office (we normally order the organic blend which is our favourite) but decided to try this. No one liked it so I took it home.

Same kind of thing happened with the 1 kg I received. Mine was definitely not a light roast as advertised. I knock out the puck & it looks like a medium to dark roast. Think that may be the issue, a roasting mistake possibly?

It really tasted like there was something wrong with the coffee. No one could even drink it and we needed to throw the whole bag out. It had a real chemical taste to it - it just didn't taste right.
It had no crema at all - was just horrible and a waste of money.

It is best with oats milk

For me, Black Velvet is an incredibly versatile blend. Its medium-roast acidic complexity adds X factor to milky coffees without tipping over into a weird fruit/milk clash. The same acidity gives fruity pep to black coffees - and both are supported by a solid, toasty “coffee coffee” base.
This is my daily driver blend, and also the best place to introduce cautious folk to more complex, less roasty coffee.
